Big Kid?!

I feel like I blinked and my baby girl has grown into a big kid! I know, those of you with older children are probably going to reassure me that she is still quite young and very much a baby (after all, she is only 4 months old)...but just look at that face full of curiosity and questions. Elliana is curious about everything around her, and her eyes always seem to be processing the information far more quickly than a child her age should process.

We ventured to the zoo last week for Elliana's first trip, and she LOVED the experience. Most of the day she hung out in a front carrier attached to Mommy so that she could move around and see everything as I could. She smiled and laughed and flailed her arms and legs all day as she saw new things for the first time. I love watching her explore and figure things out.

At almost four months old, Elliana is learning about more than just the animals at the zoo. We began using sign language for basic tasks and already she seems to understand basic signs such as "eat". Elli continues to try to roll herself over and gets frustrated when she can roll one time, but is unable to when she tries again. But, it is all a learning process and she gets a bit closer each day. Unfortunately Elli's favorite snack is still her hands as she "attacks" them daily and then sucks on them. It's a full-time job removing those hands and encouraging a pacifier instead (after all, I can take away the pacifier...the hands...they are keepers).

We stay busy with visits with grandparents, baby storytime at the library, play dates and lots of playing around the house. Elliana continues to discover her voice and I absolutely love the little shrieks that she lets out while playing!

Well, that is the latest with the Berndsen family and I just thought I would share. We hope all is well with each of you!

Happy Easter!

Well, Elliana's first Easter has come and gone, but I think it is safe to say that she enjoyed herself! We had a very busy holiday weekend, but Elliana seemed to enjoy every moment of the action, including hanging out with two sets of great-grandparents, and all three sets of grandparents! Talk about a busy social life for a little girl! Below are a few photos of all the excitement and an updated Berndsen family photo :)

Picture Day!

Yesterday was Elliana's first photo shoot in a portrait studio and she was absolutely amazing!! Our happy little girl had so much fun getting her 3 month pictures taken, and Mommy had a blast watching her interact with the camera. Just thought I would post a few pictures of our growing bundle of joy!

My new Job

On Tuesday, I officially quit my job to begin my new role as a full-time Mommy!! I really enjoyed my work, but the truth is I enjoy my role as Mommy even more. There are things far more valuable in life than earning two paychecks, and I am so very grateful that my husband is so supportive and such a hard worker to allow Elliana and I to stay together during the days.

Although money may get tight at times, I know that I will never regret the decision to stay home. Time passes far too quickly, and I am cherishing each and every minute!

3 Month Update

It is hard to believe that 3 months tomorrow marks the day that our baby girl entered our world. I would have to say that this month has been the most fun yet as Elliana has become so much more interactive and personable! Elliana's smile lights up the room and we have found at times that we literally can't stop kissing those big cheeks! Almost anything these days can bring a smile, and on occassion we have even heard her giggle now and then.

As for other milestones, little Elli-Belly has also learned to hold her head up for longer periods of time, sit in her bumby, splash in the bathtub, play more with her toys and continues to sleep through the night. Overall, we know that we are incredibly blessed to have this little girl in our lives, and are loving to watch the changes that come with each new day!
