I feel like I blinked and my baby girl has grown into a big kid! I know, those of you with older children are probably going to reassure me that she is still quite young and very much a baby (after all, she is only 4 months old)...but just look at that face full of curiosity and questions. Elliana is curious about everything around her, and her eyes always seem to be processing the information far more quickly than a child her age should process.
We ventured to the zoo last week for Elliana's first trip, and she LOVED the experience. Most of the day she hung out in a front carrier attached to Mommy so that she could move around and see everything as I could. She smiled and laughed and flailed her arms and legs all day as she saw new things for the first time. I love watching her explore and figure things out.
At almost four months old, Elliana is learning about more than just the animals at the zoo. We began using sign language for basic tasks and already she seems to understand basic signs such as "eat". Elli continues to try to roll herself over and gets frustrated when she can roll one time, but is unable to when she tries again. But, it is all a learning process and she gets a bit closer each day. Unfortunately Elli's favorite snack is still her hands as she "attacks" them daily and then sucks on them. It's a full-time job removing those hands and encouraging a pacifier instead (after all, I can take away the pacifier...the hands...they are keepers).
We stay busy with visits with grandparents, baby storytime at the library, play dates and lots of playing around the house. Elliana continues to discover her voice and I absolutely love the little shrieks that she lets out while playing!
Well, that is the latest with the Berndsen family and I just thought I would share. We hope all is well with each of you!
