Busy Birthday Weekend

The Birthday Girl
I blogged briefly from the car on Saturday about our little getaway to Brown County Indiana. Now that we are home, slightly unpacked and a bit back into our routine I thought I'd share the rest of the highlights of the birthday bonanza weekend. We hiked about 2 miles in the State Park, which might not seem like much...but given Elliana hiked the whole thing, we were pretty impressed with ourselves.

Maya all tuckered out on Daddy's back

Where do I begin to talk about the uninterrupted family time and just how much it fills my soul with happiness? After our hike we returned for naps, which only Daddy was able to do as he wasn't feeling well. The Girls and I played, giggled and watched shows until he was ready for more celebrations. :)

The Birthday girls....yes, this was the only picture of us together... :)

Sunday we filled our day with anticipation of fulfilling the Christmas gift we got Papa Jim and Grandma Carolyn. An evening with our family at the CIRCUS!! Below, Papa Jim got in on the fun with a clown nose. He looks thrilled, doesn't he? :)

Maya is completely overwhelmed :)
Maya hated the clown nose but loved the circus!

So many people say that children Maya's age don't or won't enjoy something like the circus. Well that is just nonsense, or they have never met a kid like Maya! Maya clapped her hands, danced in her seat, pointed and grunted with the rest of the audience truly making it memorable for all of us.

And now...Maya is happily tucked into her bed enjoying a MUCH needed nap after all the busy birthday weekend activities.
